We headed up the mountain for some fresh air, exercise and fun. Nevermind that it was a blustery 15-20 degrees out. We needed some good outdoor fun. With a bunch of friends, 2 dogs, 2 toddlers, a baby, six sleds, dominos, and PLENTY of hot cocoa and cookies….it was sure to be a good time. Charlotte was well bundled for the trip…fleece footed jammies, fluffy bear suit, fleece hat and hood from bear suit, mittens, fleece/sheepskin blanket sack, and blanket over top! Yes..I was well prepared. She was so cozy she even fell asleep on the long hike up to our friends cabin. Once at our friends cabin, we warmed up (actually…all the adults were quite warm enough..and sweating from the hike) with hot cocoa. Kate and Caden loved running around the cabin (Kate stripped down to her undies as usual…seriously impossible to keep clothes on this girl)..and sliding down the stairs. And we crammed 7 adults around a tiny table for some dominos! So fun!! Since the hike to the cabin was all uphill (gradual uphill, but a long hike)…we took advantage of the sleds on the way back. Kate and Daddy took one sled…and Charlotte and I took another. I probably sound like a crazy, reckless mother taking my 5 month old sledding (I even questioned my sanity)…but I went REALLY slow…with my feet out the sides for brakes and steering. Charlotte was nestled on my chest in her baby carrier…happy as could be. All in all…a great way to spend a sunny winter day!
