Spring Time Bliss

I just have to say, I love flowers. Especially tulips and daffodils. They are my favorite. They are the very essence of spring. And did I mention my love for flowering trees. Happiness bubbles up just seeing their fluffy branches. Spring energizes me. I can't stay in my house. It makes me crazy. I want to be outside feeling the fresh air and sun. Marveling at the beauty of the flowers, as the sweet smell of a blossoming world fills my lungs. I love it.

My other love is photography. Im not very good at it....but that doesn't stop me from taking pictures like they were going out of style. I even took a digital photography class, fisnishing with a"world's most irritating travel companion" certificate in hand. I can fill up a memory card like its nobody's buisness. Coupling my love for flowers and photography is always dangerous. Now combine that with the Tulip Festival...and Im in heaven! Im posting a lot of pics...but the flowers were so beautiful, I had to share.

Kate doesn't share my love for photos

Thanks Lacee for indulging my picture-crazy-self

Happy Spring!!

Black Beans

Beans, beans...the magical fruit...the more you eat, the more you.....poop! Not every aspect of motherhood is glorious. Like discovering that black beans do not digest. Especially when you realize this fact..not by finding black beans in the diaper....but by discovering them in the bathtub..along with some other goodies. After the initial horror past......I admit, I did take a picture, with full intent of posting it..but...Im sure the mental picture is enough. I don't think I'll look at black beans the same again.

He is RISEN!

Easter Sunday was filled with sunshine, Easter dresses, church, egg hunts, a yummy brunch, time with family, a walk to the park with Kate, and most importantly...time to reflect on the wonderful gift Christ has given us. He died so that we can live. He died for our sins so that we can return to our Heavenly Father. I am so thankful for this gift. As we proclaim in church on Easter morning...He is RISEN, He is Risen INDEED!

This year, I made my first Easter brunch. It turned out great...with the exception of the monkey bread taking longer to bake than planned (I read the recipe wrong and added a few too many biscuits.....so as it was baking I had to remove several layers...so the doughy middle would finally bake). In the end...the bread was still delicious.

The Easter Bunny even stopped by to bring Kate an Easter basket. It was filled with goodies including a doll and stroller. Kate was is HEAVEN! She pushed her dolly around all day. Its so fun watching her with her doll. She knows just want to do with her already. She carries her around, gives her kisses and puts her in the stroller! I might just have to eat her up...she is just too yummy!!

Dying Eggs

This year, dying eggs was more of a spectator sport for Kate...but she still enjoyed it. We tried giving her an egg....but it ended up...cracked on the floor. So she ate it instead. um,um good!

Passed Down

While Kate was having a play date at grandmas last week, my mom decided to pull out a bunch of my old things. I was amazed she still had so much of my stuff from when I was little. She had my little table and chair set, dolls, little people house set, clothes, etc.. Kate LOVED playing with all of it! She especially loved sitting at her own little table and carrying her dolls. Her new word is "baby". She walks around holding her babies and giving them loves. She has always wanted to hug her animals or dolls. Amongst the many things my mom pulled out....was a cute red dress that I wore when I was little. I couldn't wait to put it on Kate. So when we went to grandma and grandpa Maz's house for a Easter celebration...I couldn't resist putting it on her. It was a little to short for a dress, so I put her jeans on....and DARLING!!!
