Its Official

Kate is going to be a BIG sister!!

We had our 10 week apnt last week and everything looked great. Our little baby is healthy and growing bigger every week. So far our little one is doing a good job of making mommy tired and sick. Although the morning sickness (really...why is it called that?!?! Its usually at night or all day long..) hasn't been as bad as in my first pregnancy. Let's just say..Im very excited for the 2nd trimester. We are so excited for our new bundle of joy to arrive in August! Kate is such a wonderful blessing and we can't wait for our family to grow once again.

The Bowl

Kate and I had the pleasure of a visit from the stomach flu this weekend. It was great fun. Ok, thats a lie. It was anything but fun!! In hopes of avoiding any additional messes to clean up, I put a bowl next to Kate as we watched movies in bed. Kate had a different idea for the bowl.....

Naki Girl

Every morning this last week, I have walked into Kate's room to find one naki girl. Well...not completely naki.....thankfully. She still has her diaper on but has decided she no longer likes jammies. She takes them off at some point in the night or early morning and throws them out of her crib. A statement. Her way of making her opinions known. Why she has taken a disliking to her jammies....I have no idea. More than anything...I think she does it just because she can. I love that she is strong willed. The funny part is...half the time, when I come in to get her she is wrapped in her blanket saying she is cold. Hopefully she will soon realize if she keeps her jammies on...she might stay warm.

Christmas and New Years

We had a wonderful Christmas and New Years surrounded by family and friends. And full of laughter and love. We are blessed. And Thankful...there is no better way to spend the holidays.

Here is a photo storyline from Christmas eve morning...to Christmas night....

First on the list...Decorate cookies for Santa

They were almost devoured by cookie monster Kate

All fancied up for Christmas Eve and Papa and Grandma's house....A.K.A...The annual family auction

This years auction took place in 1600 and the old auctioner was "King Kal". Eric even had a roll this year as "Chester the Jester". (I won't embarrass him by posting pics in his green tights. He was a good enough sport to wear them!)

Before the auction starts...everyone is given costume props to go with the theme of the evening. This year, The men were Kings, the women Queens, the boys knights, and the girls..princesses. Kate loved her princess costume...and has pretty much worn her outfit every day since.

The knights and princesses

Kate loved her pony and princess tea set. We now have a tea party at our house daily...or several times a day.

Chester and King Kal, accompanied by the Queen and princess!

Getting ready for bed....and Kate giving her impression of Mary...

Setting out cookies for Santa...and taking a quick nibble of the frosting to make sure they tasted all right.

Then out in the yard to sprinkle the "magic reindeer dust" to help Santa and the reindeer find their way. (1/4 cup oats, red sprinkles or red glitter, green sprinkles or green glitter, and shiny confetti stars (optional)....Attach card with following..
"Sprinkle this reindeer food outside
on Christmas Eve Night.
The moonlight will make it sparkle bright.
As Santa and his reindeer fly and roam
This will guide them to your home."

Santa left Kate a SLIDE!! She was sooo excited. Slides are her favorite!

Enjoying Christmas morning with Uncle Tony and Aunt Peggy. They came all the way from Hawaii!

Running off some energy in the snow and enjoying the swings and slide at the park.

Then over to Nannys house for Christmas dinner

Enjoying her new barn from Nanny

Now on to New Years Eve. A night at Papa and Grandmas house full of fun, food and games.

Grandma even had sparklers, streamers, and a trumpet to help ring in the new year (at 9 before the kids went to bed)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Kate loved all the streamers!

We started off the New Year with relaxing, puzzels, and building a snow man. Yep, starting the year off right!
