Random Pics

Just some random pics from the last month

How I found Kate when I checked on her during her nap. She had demolished her room, put on a princess dress and ballet shoes…and fell asleep reading herself a book

Storytime at the library. I LOVE all the FREE programs they have at the library. You should definitely check them out

Pulling a ball in a sled, wearing panties and rain boots. Haha! I love this girl.

My gma frying up some walleye. No one can fry fish like my grandma! Yum! Is she gorgeous or what! And can you believe she’s in her 80’s. I can’t!

Zoo day. Kate has now assumed the stroller pushing wherever we go. She just trucks around the zoo (or anywhere) for hours pushing Charlotte along. Only problem…she gets distracted easily and will head right for other people, trees, fences…etc. I have to keep a close eye on this crazy driver.

All the playing and bouncing makes this baby tired. She often bounces herself right to sleep

Random bunny that hopped in to our backyard one day. We love our little bunny friend. He turns up every once in awhile…and we just can’t resist giving him a carrot. Turns out he is our neighbors and he likes to crawl under our fence for a visit. Dante and him are the best of friends. It’s pretty cute..they lay right by each other and Dante even lets him nuzzle and snuggle.

Pic after Kate put on a dance performance for Grandma Donna. Good dancing sweetie. You are becoming quite the performer!

Tulip Festival

Sun. Tulips. Good company. Dutch style doughnuts (hot out of the fryer)

Could you ask for a better day…I think not!

Kate LOVED the bear cave and secret tunnels. I think she could have stayed there all day. Thanks mom for keeping up with Kate and helping her run some of her energy out.

Easter 2011

I'm really behind…and in an effort to catch-up and alleviate that nagging feeling that I need to update my blog….These next couple posts will probably be more pics and less text.

Here's a quick run down of our Easter.

Attempted some public egg hunts this year. We decided we are not fans of public egg hunts. They left a really bad taste in our mouths. We saw too many kids with buckets of eggs while other kids were crying because they didn’t even get one egg. We had to go to two…the first one…all the eggs (a claimed 13, 000 eggs) were gone in 4 minutes. I mean really. Poor Kate didn’t get one egg and was crushed. SO I quickly looked up another egg hunt on my phone and off we rushed to another hunt to mend her broken heart. Luckily we were first in line for this one, so Kate found her eggs. We ended up giving half away to the poor crying kids who were towards the back of the line and were too late to find eggs. Seriously…we were sooo turned off by the whole ordeal. Felt like it took away from the real spirit and feeling of Easter. What happened to being loving and giving. Instead we were met with greedy kids/parents that held no concern for all the other kiddos. Blahhhh. Don’t think we’ll bother with those again. Sorry…I’ll get off my soapbox now.

Easter day. Church in the am, home for a quick look to see what the Easter bunny left (Kate was thrilled to find a Dora Ballerina dress in her basket). Quickly baked my monkey bread. Then to my mom’s for Brunch and another Egg hunt for Kate. Food and company was delightful as always. And we were lucky enough to still have my grandma in town. Headed back home for naps…then over to Eric’s parents for dinner and another egg hunt (Kates 4th egg hunt). Loads of fun and candy with the cousins.

Charlottes Baptism

A beautiful, sacred day for our family.

Surrounded and supported by our family and friends

A joyous and tender time for Eric and I

Sweet Charlotte, you (and your sister) are our joy..our life. We adore you. But as much as we love you, The Lord loves you even more. We promise (with the Lords help and guidance) we will lead you and teach you to walk in his ways and delight in his name.

May The Lord bless you and keep you.

May the Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you.

May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace.

{Numbers 6:24-26}

Thank you to all our friends and family who joined us on this special day. Also Thanks to all of you who brought food/drinks for our luncheon. With a big..big THANKS to my mom and grandma. You both are amazing, thank you for all you did to make this day so special.
