Fathers Day

Our Fathers Day...
Started off the morning by giving Eric his cards and presents in bed
then we stayed in bed, all snuggled up to watch Toy Story (Kates first time seeing it).
Rolled out of bed around 9:30
Cooked breakfast burritos and enjoyed a relaxing breakfast on our patio

Headed to the swimming pool...Dads even got in free!
Lounged in the sun and splashed in the water

A quick visit to Erics parents
then enjoyed a quiet BBQ at home..loving our time together in our backyard. On the menu per Eric's request...Grilled Brats, Chicken shiskabobs (for me...not a brat fan), fresh grilled veggies (squash, zuccini, asparagus, and rosemary roasted potatoes) and fresh fruit. Yumm...Our favorite kind of summer dinner. We love grilling fresh veggies....Isn't summer simply fantastic!!! We even had fresh flowers from the farmers market to add to our table.
Eric set up Kates water table...she loves it, but for some reason has decided that being totally naki..makes playing in the water soo much better. Oh how this child loves to run around the backyard naked. I really do try and keep clothes on her..but sometimes it is just a losing battle. I guess it's ok when we don't have company right??? haha

After getting Kate in bed...Eric and I snuggled in bed with some chocolate pie and a movie.

Simply put...it was a heavenly day. We enjoyed every minute of it.

My dearest hubby....Thank you for being the man you are. You are an incredible husband and Father. You give so much of yourself, willingly..without complaint..you are always so helpful, patient, kind, loving, hard working..and fun. Seeing you as a father makes me love you more than I thought possible. Kate absolutely adores you and I can't wait to see you with our new little one. We love you and are so blessed to have you.

Some of my favorite "Daddy" moments:
Listening to you and Kate carrying on full conversations. She loves telling you all about her day.

Watching Kate's eyes light up when she hears the garage door...and runs to greet you at the door. You are so good to always play with her right after getting home from work. She never even lets you take off your shoes or get your jacket off before she is begging you to play. You always play with her right after walking in the door..no matter how tired you are.

Coming home from work to see all the fun games or projects you two have done

Hearing Kate say "I can fix it" as she knows just what to do from watching you fix everything

Coming home from work to find out Kate had the stomach flu...at first I was upset you didn't call me...but when I got home and you had washed the car seat, cleaned the carpet, washed several loads of puked on clothes..yours and hers included, given her a bath, and had dinner ready for me...and as I walked in the door (stressed that my baby was sick)..found you rocking her..I knew you could handle things in my absence. What a Dad!!

Seeing you and Kate snuggle while wathcing movies.

Watching Kate jam to your music

Im so glad we had a whole day together just to honor you and the wonderful Dad you are!!!

Movie in the Park

We attended our first "Movie in the Park"! It was something we wanted to do last summer..but the weather never cooperated. We finally had a nice sunny evening and were able to enjoy the free family fun! It was a blast. We enjoyed a picnic, bounce houses (for the kids), magic show, and dancing before the movie. At dusk, the movie was projected onto a giant inflatable screen. The feature of the night...Madagascar 2. We (adults included) quite enjoyed the movie. Very funny if you haven't seen it. Kate loved the whole experience...especially dancing before the movie. I wish I could figure out how to post videos again...I have so many funny ones to share. We hope to attend several more movies in the park this summer. It is such a fun way to spend an evening!

Had to get a pic of the preggy tummies.

Flower Crazy...

Finally finished all my flower pots...yeah. Now I can sit back and enjoy my backyard for the rest of the summer. Except for the constant watering and weeding...haha. It feels so nice to have my
flowers all planted and my pation all set up.

Rain today...Really?!?!?!

We didn't think twice about the weather when we bought tickets for an outdoor concert on June 16th. I suppose...it would have been wise to consider that June can always be "iffy" when it comes to rain...but we thought by mid June we would be fine. Of coarse...the night of our concert..the rain and wind blew in just in time for our concert. The real irony to the night is that it was gorgeous the previous night and blue skies and sunny the next morning. Ggrrrrr. So instead of a nice sunny evening enjoying bluegrass by Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers...we froze our butts off in the rain and 50 degree weather. Blahh. The concert itself was still fun and we enjoyed the music and laughed as Steve Martin cracked us up between songs...but still.....Really!?!? Was it too much to ask for good weather..
oh yeah...rockin' the pancho!

Fairy Festival

Saturaday, we took Kate to a Fairy Festival at a local flower nursery. I was sad when the forecast predicted cold and rainy...but luckily we had a break in the rain for a few hours. So we just couldn't resist. She enjoyed all the fairy activities and her usual favorites..the train, fish pond, birds and cat (there is two cats that live there). Kate loved it and has asked several times since, with her Tinkerbell costume in hand, to go to the fairy gardens. She used to call it the "kitty garden"...but its now offically the "fairy gardens".

All ready and sooo excited to go!!

Summer fun and a preggers pic

Enjoying a little sun at the splash pad between all the rainstorms

30 weeks!!

A perfect day for me...

includes warm sunny weather, spending the morning with Kate visiting flower nurseries to pick out our flowers, and spending the afternoon planting my pots. Planting is so fun and relaxing to me. I love it!
my flower selections
I'll post pics of all my pots once I finish them. I was about half way done when the rain decided to roll in....and its suppose to rain all weekend...ick!

Flower pots and butterflys..

My moms boyfriend Bob made my mom and I these amazing butterfly shephards hooks. He has been wanting us to come over to paint them. So last Sunday after getting home frrom camping, we headed to Bob's to paint our butterflies and enjoy a nice dinner. I also told Bob I would plant some of his flower pots..since it is one of my favorite summer hobbies. We had a wonderful evening....and we even got to watch an amazing thunder/rain storm as we were finishing up dinner on Bobs covered patio. Thanks Bob for the shepards hook...I love it!

Eric painted my butterfly for me...I wasn't sure I should be using spray paint while pregnant

I didn't get a pic of mine..but I'll post one when I get it set up in my yard.

Summer is finally here!!

Our first camping trip of the season...means summer is finally here!! Well..sort of....its cold and rainy today but last weekend was beautiful and we took full advantage of the nice sunny days! We sure love camping...especially Kate. She was in heaven playing in the dirt with her friends. I got to the point where I stopped trying to wipe her off....it was utterly pointless. We were all a sight when we got home though...we looked like that character from Charlie Brown...pigpen??...the one with the cloud of dust around him. haha. Even our car was completely covered in dust. The best part about getting home from camping..a shower and my bed!!
I finally tried my hand at making tinfoil dinners. Yummmm! They were delicious! Nothing like a warm tinfoil dinner hot off the fire....followed by smores! Oh how I love summer!
Danielle and Brian have a huge tent...so we bunked with them..it must be a 12 man tent because we very comfortably fit 2 queen size mattresses, 2 pack'n'plays, all our stuff and still had about 3 feet beween us. It was great...except Kate woke up at 5:58 am..bright eyed and bushy tailed. Once Caden heard Kate..he was up too. So we had an early morning enjoying powdered sugar doughnuts in the tent. Thanks D&B for sharing your tent with us!
The award for the trip goes to Sadie and Dave. They brought a 5 gallon bucket...lined with a bag..kitty litter...and a toilet seat! Genious! Especially for a pregnant lady! There were no bathrooms where we camped....so trying to squat in the bushes at 7 months pregnant would have been quite the task! I can't thank you enough!!!
Even though it was incredibly hot, dusty, and I broke out in heat rash...we had soo much fun. Thanks to all our friends. We loved our time with you all. Hopefully we will get to go camping at least one more time before Im too huge and miserable. I forgot how to import a slideshow of pics....so Im just posting a ton. Remember...i love pictures!
