Spring project

After living in our house for 4 years...we finally finished a project we have been wanting to do since moving in. When we bought our house, it had a HUGE garden in the backyard...literally half of our yard. It was fun the first year to plant a crazy big garden.....but then.....along came sweet baby Kate. Needless to say, my time and energy for gardening decreased dramatically and weeding was no longer a top priority. Not to say that I don't still love to garden...but 1500 sq feet...not so much. A little garden will be just fine. My goal for this spring was to rip out the garden and replace it with grass...so little miss has plenty of room to run off all her energy. Thanks to a little nudge from Bob..my moms boyfriend...actually, little nudge wouldn't quite do it justice. He went to work in our backyard and left a pile probably 30 ft long (or more) in his wake! Thanks Bob...that was a huge help! That gave us the jump start we needed and with many grueling hrs of tilling (thanks honey!!) and the installation of sprinklers (again...thanks honey...and Brian!) we were finally ready to lay sod. Eric's brothers and friends showed up to help...and viola....the garden is now grass and our backyard has doubled in size! Thanks to everyone who made it happen. We spend most of our time in the evening out there now, admiring our new grass. And Kate loves all the new space to run.

Sorry we weren't there to help. I didn't know when you were doing it or we would have been there.

Looks awesome!
